Do You Believe Facebook Page Hacked!

As you have noticed if you’ve been on Facebook today, Pure Flix and many of our movie pages have been hacked. This was a well-planned attack. Not only have they posted inappropriate and offensive content, they also removed our ability to control or delete any of the content they have posted.

We are sorry for all of this and apologize to any of you who have seen content that is inappropriate. We appreciate your prayers as we look to right this situation. And we ask for your grace as we work directly with high-level Facebook leaders to resolve this.

As we make a daily commitment to create entertainment that can change our culture for Christ, one heart at a time, we understand that this is an attack by the enemy.

Our prayer is for God to use this as a way to bring glory to himself. We hold to what Joseph says in Genesis 50:20, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

We ask that you continue to stand with us as we move forward and stand firm in what God has called us to do!

Thanks for your continued support,
The Pure Flix Team

It’s Easter … and the World Will Never Be the Same!

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.

From everyone at Pure Flix and DO YOU BELIEVE?, HAPPY EASTER.

He has risen. We believe!

The Forgotten Day

Have you ever had one of those days? You know, the kind where you don’t know where to begin and you wonder if it’s ever going to end?

It’s interesting to think how the disciples spent the Saturday between Good Friday—the worst day of their lives—and Easter Sunday, which would change their lives forever.

Like them, we’ve all been there when the rug is pulled out from under us. It may be the death of a loved one. An unexpected job loss. An unresolved conflict. The end of a relationship.

How we respond to those “Saturdays” of life starts long before they arrive. When we are following Christ closely during the good times, we know He is with us during the tough times … even if, like the disciples, we can’t see Him clearly.

Today, between Good Friday and Sunday, be reminded of God’s goodness, mercy, and grace. Experience DO YOU BELIEVE? in a theater near you and know: there is power in the Cross of Christ!

Good Friday

Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”

The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”

There was a written notice above him, which read: This is the King of the Jews.

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”

But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:32-43

Taking Up Your Cross Has A High Price Tag

DYB_Blog_ChristCost

The DO YOU BELIEVE? team recently met Kelvin Cochran, the Atlanta Fire Chief who was fired for his faith.  We asked Chief Cochran to watch the movie and share his thoughts with you, which he does below. Join Chief Cochran in seeing the movie this week when it opens and please continue to pray fo Kelvin and his family.

DO YOU BELIEVE? is a powerful depiction of the sovereignty of God in our lives. The movie is an amazing reminder of how the lives of common, everyday people work together in divine harmony to reveal the grace of God through his Son Jesus Christ. Jesus himself used common everyday people—fishermen, a physician, and even a tax collector—to turn the whole world upside down.

The movie’s theme of “taking up your cross” resonates with me after having lost my 34-year, childhood-dream-come-true career. How did I lose my job as a fire chief? By freely expressing my faith in a book I wrote on my own time for a Christian men’s Bible study.

My story is a real-life testimony that taking up your cross has a high price tag on it. DO YOU BELIEVE? captures the reality that there are costly, worldly consequences for standing on biblical truths and values. True believers act on their beliefs in spite of the cost. We know as believers, there are also kingdom consequences for standing on biblical truths that are far greater than the worldly consequences.

Like Bobby, the EMT in the movie, if I had to do it all over again, I would make the same decision. Americans are guaranteed the freedom to live without fear of adverse consequences for the free expression of speech and religion.

After watching this awe-inspiring movie, my resolve to have a living, active faith in Jesus Chris is even stronger. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back. No turning back!
